It would be great if we could control the type of data that gets entered into our custom fields. For example, we have an effective date custom field for our invoices, and it would be great if we could control it so it is only dates in a specific format.

Do you mind helping me understand a bit more what functionality you’d ideally want. When you say you have an “effective date custom field for our invoices” are you talking about a vendor-level Custom Field (accessible via Vendor tab > Settings) or something specifically at an invoice or bill-level?
If vendor Custom Fields, we do have a ‘Date’ field type in MM/DD/YYYY, but is there a different date format you’d prefer?
Thanks for the quick reply Pat. We are looking at the custom accounting fields. Our accounting software has specific requirements for some fields and right now so we have an Accounting Effective Date field we utilize for line items in invoices. However, we have to manually verify the format that is entered right now on every invoice which is time consuming. It would be nice to force the date field type. In further thought, it would be nice if you could restrict the date ranges entered but that is a much larger request. We would get by based on just being able to select the field type.
