Hey, quick question on merchant locking - if I lock a card to a specific vendor that sells through a merchant of record (Paddle, Lemon Squeezy, etc), does Ramp’s merchant locking actually distinguish between the underlying businesses, or would every vendor on Paddle look identical to every other vendor on Paddle with no way to tell them apart?
Hi Cavan! I’m Nidhi from the Ramp team. Great question — with platforms like Paddle or Lemon Squeezy, it can be hit or miss. Sometimes the charge comes through under the platform’s name rather than the underlying business, so merchant restrictions won’t always reliably tell them apart. It really depends on how the platform reports the transaction to the card network, which is largely outside of Ramp’s control.
