It would be ideal for there to be an option to place bills on Hold in the Bill Pay screen. Placing a bill on Hold would allow the approver to let the Bookkeepers know that they are doing additional research on a bill vs only approving or rejecting a bill. If the bill is accidentally approved but the approver is still doing research, the Bookkeeper can place the bill on Hold as well.
In Sage Intacct, bills that are placed on Hold do not show on the Pay Bills screen which is the same functionality we want in Ramp as well. We don’t want the opportunity for a bill to be paid if research is still being done. Please consider adding this option for bills. Thank you!
Currently, bills in Ramp can only be approved or rejected. However, there are instances where an approver needs additional time to research a bill before making a final decision. In these cases, neither approving nor rejecting the bill is appropriate. There needs to be an option to put a bill “On Hold.”
This would allow approvers to be able to mark bills as “On Hold” while they investigate or confirm details. This would alleviate accidental approvals or premature payments during ongoing research. Both approvers and Bookkeepers should have the ability to place or remove the hold status. In Sage Intacct, bills placed on hold are excluded from the Pay Bills screen and we would like to mirror this functionality in Ramp to ensure bill payments are properly managed during review.
This feature would reduce the risk of errors, improve communication between Bookkeepers and Approvers and ensure greater control over bill processing workflows.
Any updates on this? Yes, I agree with this. I’m not sure where this has landed as I just found this forum. I would love to be able to code a bill as On Hold with a comment so when I come back to it later I know where I left off.
