I am trying to pay a vendor/person via venmo using venmo’s credit card functions. I am not able to get the transaction to go thru. Anyone know what the deal is or if this is a setting issue?
Hi Sarah! Venmo transactions often decline on Ramp cards, because Venmo recently updated the categorization of many of its transactions, and those categories are blocked on Ramp due to risk and compliance reasons.
If you need to pay this vendor, my suggestions would be:
- Pay via Ramp Bill Pay by ACH, check, or wire
- If the vendor accepts cards through a standard processor (not via Venmo), pay with your Ramp card there
- For repaying individuals, use Ramp reimbursements instead of Venmo
