New to Ramp and the community, so please let me know if maybe I’m missing a feature that we can enable.
Going through my first month end close using Ramp, I found that I really wanting two accounting categories for the QuickBooks Desktop CSV export. Ideally, these two categories would be:
Credit card account GL
Expense account GL
I found myself adding columns for the CSV to get the columns I needed to import into QBD. So, even the ability to add custom columns (e.g., additional GLs, text fields) would be helpful!
For QBD, Ramp supports exporting data for four fields - Accounting Category, Customer, Vendor, & Class. This data can be exported in an IIF format for transactions and reimbursements (read more). If you upload it as an IIF, it should move all the boxes over.
However, the ability to add custom columns or additional GLs directly in the export is not currently supported. You might need to manually add these additional fields in the CSV after exporting from Ramp before importing them into QuickBooks Desktop.
I also want to note - if you’re interested in Ramp Plus, we have a direct integration with QBD!
