Right now, the advanced rules seem to be based on category, department, merchant, or location, but it would be immensely helpful if the rules could be based on what is in the memo text. For example, the same person might purchase gas for rental cars as a part of travel (an opex line item), but they might also be purchasing gas for delivery vehicles (a COGS line item). None of category, department, merchant, or location solve that, and the largest number of our expenses need to be categorized based on some combination of those four, PLUS the memo.
Is this something that others have run into, and is this something the Ramp team is working on? I signed up for Ramp Plus primarily to have that functionality, and then learned it didn’t exist…
