Dave talked today about setting up an approval workflow, where a staffmember can direct to a specific department owner rather than having everything go to the staff-member’s supervisor. Can someone post a screenshot/s of what that looks like, please?
Hey @Lucie_Thompson
Yeah, here is a quick mock-up
In this case, Creed Bratton is the VP Marketing (approves all Marketing expenses) & Elizabeth Smith is the VP People (approves all Recruiting expenses).
You can get much more creative from here.
We create 4 layers for each cost center for expense approvals. Since many of our cost center owners initiate their own expenses, we need to direct their own expenses to their manager, but the owners approve expenses initiated by others. And for reimbursements we add an Admin approval as well.
Hey Shari,
Thanks for this. Is the Accounting Cost Center a group that you set up? I can’t find that option on the free version of Ramp.
Lucie
Hey Lucie! Sheridan from the Ramp team here. Good question-- Adding things like Accounting fields and Employee Name field within your Expense Policy, in the way demonstrated by the screenshots above, is currently only available through Ramp Plus.
If a user, department, etc. needs an Expense Policy workflow specific, you could create a policy dedicated to them and apply it to their specific card.
Lucie, yes, we added this accounting cost center field. Many times, our cardholders expense purchases to cost centers other than their home cost center so we had to go this route, so the appropriate approver is notified that an expense was made to the cost center they monitor.
