Connecting Dynamics Business Central (BC) to demo.ramp.com

My name is Matthew Pirtle, and I’m part of the Technical Solutions team here at Ramp. I wanted to share some details on how to properly connect your Business Central environment to our Ramp demo environment.

If you have been trying to connect and get this error " Permissions are not granted to Ramp Entra Card Follow the indicated steps below to select the user permission set on the Ramp Connector card. " You have come to the right place!

Procedure

  1. Follow the standard accounting onboarding flow until this step. This step only works for connecting a normal ramp.com account and does not work for demo.ramp.com. Ignore the instructions on this page and complete the below procedure.

  2. In the BC company to connect, search for “Microsoft Entra Applications”.

3.Create a new Entra Card.

  1. Fill in the following information:
    a. Client ID: e5b5ec30-b4b5-4691-a961-92953262928f
    b. Description: Demo Ramp Connector
    c. State: Enabled

  2. Add RAMP CONNECTOR to User Permission Sets.

  3. Close the Entra Card to ensure it’s saved.

  4. Press the Continue button on Ramp to complete the connection.

Note: Once you are done testing make sure to delete the Demo Ramp Connector as it can cause issues if enabled with your Production Ramp Connector.

Thanks for this information. My organization might be completing a free trial of Business Central soon … does every Ramp Plus account have access to a demo environment? And if yes, how does one access the Ramp demo environment?

Yes, if you have a Ramp+ account you can have access to a demo environment. You would need to request one from your CSM or AM that you have worked with in the past. If you do not know who that is I can look it up by company name.
