disable "Default payment method to card when possible"

hello, our bill pay invoices all of the sudden started defaulting to using the ramp visa to pake a payment instead of using ACH from our ramp account. We found a setting that showed up:

we have disabled that…but still have hundreds of bills that show the payment method as Automatic card payment. when we try to chage the method back to ACH the system immediatly defaults back to paying by the Ramp card! How do we get rid of that?

Support ended up having to fix it. It has been resolved.

Hey @Chris_Steele , I’m Ian from our engineering team.

The automatic card payment system detects which of your bills are card payable to earn your business cashback and leverage spend controls that Ramp offers.

It sounds like we missed the mark here somehow. Curious, why do you want to revert all of your bills back to ACH?

We have vendors that accept card payments with additional processing costs that exceed Ramp’s cashback % - paying with a Ramp card makes it more expensive.

Hi @Anne_Marie_Aque, Ramp should be catching if they the vendor charges fees and not recommending pay by card. Has that not been the case for you?

It’s been suggested in the past with vendors who charge fees. I haven’t looked with recent suggestions because if we could pay via Ramp card with no additional fees - we would have done so and not through Bill Pay.
