Ramp should consider adding support for placeholder or dynamic date variables within recurring bills. Currently, recurring invoices often require manual updates when dates need to be reflected in fields like descriptions, memos, or line items (e.g., “Services for March 2026”). Allowing dynamic fields such as {{month}}, {{year}}, or custom date ranges would significantly reduce manual intervention, improve accuracy, and streamline workflows for teams managing high volumes of recurring expenses. This would be especially valuable for AP automation and reporting consistency, aligning recurring bill functionality with more advanced automation capabilities expected in modern financial systems.

That sounds like an AMAZING idea. I steer people away from automated memos because of the lack of dynamic fields.
Thanks for the feedback! We actually can do this today - we launched a new feature recently (link to blog, help center) that automatically learns from your past bills. If you fill in “Services for March 2026”, it would learn this pattern over time.
You can also optionally add instructions for the AI. For example, if you added an instruction for “fill in bill description with ‘Services for current month & year’”, the AI would follow your instructions moving forward. You can add these preferences either per-vendor or for all of your invoices.
