Would love the ability to export transaction splits to CSV.
Currently they only default to first Accounting Category listed.
Hi Becky! If you are currently using our universal CSV integration, you should be able to see split transactions and the specific accounting categories associated with them today in the export. In order to see the different accounting categories associated with the split transactions, you should export as Journal Entries. This option should give you a more detailed breakdown of fields compared to download CSV option, including the accounting categories, receipt information, debit/credit information, etc.
Let me know if that works for you!
Thanks, I will check it out!!
I completely agree, Becky! I was actually about to make a separate thread- but then I came across your post so I thought I’d also add to it as well.
It would be great if there was a csv data export from the “Expenses”> “Transactions” screen that accurately captures split transactions data. Curently, we are utilizing a workaround by downloading the sync preview csv. But that data file contains extraneous rows (at least in our case) that have to be filtered, which requires a bit of mapping and clean up on our end. And it also only accounts for transactions that have yet to be synced over - there’s limits to the custom date range functionality that is present in the “Expenses”> “Transactions” screen.
Hi Ramp Team,
Were there any advancements made on this topic? I’m also running into this issue. I prefer to export CSV out of the Expenses page instead of Accounting page, since I can download the receipt images at the same time, and there’s a lot less cleanup needed for the file. Unfortunately, it doesn’t show splits, which is annoying. Any chance this could get added in?
Thanks!
It looks like splits will show up in the transactions CSV but not the reimbursements one. Would be nice if reimbursements could show splits as well ![]()
Hi Kate, this is Ale from Ramp’s product team. As you mentioned, we did update the behavior for transactions to show splits. Additionally for the transaction CSV on the accounting page, you can customize it as much as you’d like so that it mirrors what you’ll upload into your accounting system as much as possible. Let me know if you’re running into any issues there. For reimbursements, I’ll log your feedback to correctly show splits and to allow the ability to export receipts as well as part of the transaction export.
Thank you Alejandro! I was able to figure out the transaction CSV in both the expenses and accounting pages. Appreciate you taking in the feedback for the reimbursement splits and receipt exports!
