Paid seat selection is a great addition to Ramp Travel, but seat fees currently appear to be bundled into the total flight cost when evaluating price cap and market rate variance thresholds. This makes paid seat selection effectively unavailable for any traveler under a price-capped policy — the seat fee pushes an otherwise-compliant fare out of policy.
Suggested fix: evaluate the base fare and seat fee independently, with an optional separate seat fee allowance admins can configure. Bonus if that allowance can be scoped by role or individual for medical accommodation use cases.
Currently working around this by having affected employees with exemptions book outside Ramp entirely, which defeats the purpose of the platform.
