Getting ready to completely revamp classes in QBD

Hi. Iā€™m working to completely revamp my chart of accounts and classes in QBD, and I want to know if anyone else did that and how easy it was to change everything in RAMP to match?

Hi David! Rehana here from the CSM team. The process to update your chart of accounts and classes in Ramp is very simple after you make changes in QuickBooks Desktop. Please see steps below:

In QuickBooks Desktop:

  1. Update chart of accounts and class lists

  2. Go to File > Utilities > Export > Lists to IIF Files

  • We are only able to import your chart of accounts, Customer List, Vendor List, and Class List with this connection process and you will need to import all 4 at once.
  • Make sure the Chart of Accounts and Class is selected, along with the following if applicable: Customer List, and Vendor List
  1. Press OK to export the IIF file.
  • Name and save the file in an accessible location as we will need to import this IIF file into Ramp next.

In Ramp:

  1. Sign into your Ramp account and head to the Accounting tab

  2. Click on Settings (top left corner) ā†’ Accounting fields ā†’ Import a new IIF file ā†’ Drop .IIf file here ā†’ Select the IIF file of new import you just saved from QuickBooks Desktop ā†’ Continue
