Line-Item data in API do not have unique IDs or numbering

I may absolutely be missing something obvious, but as far as I can tell, line items do not have unique IDs or numbering in the API.

I’m trying to use this data as a part of an in-house integration and cannot figure out how to land the line items in a way that a call at a later time can match any updated line-item memos or accounting codes to previously pulled line-item data.
