Option to Lock All User Cards if Receipts Are Missing

Hi Ramp Team,

Right now, if an employee doesn’t upload a receipt, only the specific card tied to that transaction gets locked. This works fine for ongoing card use, but for one-time-use virtual cards or general spend, there’s not much incentive for the employee to upload the receipt and memo since that card won’t be used again.

I’d like to suggest a feature that would lock all of a user’s cards (physical and virtual) if they have any outstanding receipts. This would make it much more effective in ensuring compliance and would close the gap for one-time-use cards.

It would be great if this could be a configurable setting so companies can choose whether to enable it or not.

Thanks for considering this improvement.

Hi Ben, thank you for the suggestion! I shared it with the Product team, but I do want to note that there are a lot of risks involved here – for example, if someone forgets to upload a receipt and that triggers a vendor card shutdown, it could unintentionally bring down something critical, like their website.

Let me know if you or others have additional thoughts. And thank you for thinking creatively about these use cases!

That is a great point about the critical vendors. Perhaps there can be an option to mark a card as critical so it wouldn’t be included in a lockdown.
