It would be nice to pay only a portion of a bill. For instance we have situations where 50% of the invoice is due currently and the final amount is due upon completion. The current process for that is to duplicate the bill. This leads to more work, and also possible duplicate payments.

@charlotte I still do not see the partial bill payment option enabled. Is this still delayed? Very basic feature and a shame on Ramp this was not though of…

Frustrating as I have been told they would be released coming up several times and they were sure Q4 2024 then Q1 2025 etc. etc. and now we are a year later and still nothing
I think Ramp should escalate this to their chief revenue officer internally. A financial OS that doesn’t allow partial payments? LOL!
I think the product team has drastically underestimated how much the lack of this feature is hurting potential revenue. I use ramp myself and two airlines I fractional CTO at → this lack of this feature has been why we only have 20-30% AP running through Ramp. Within network, experience is the same. Partial payment is a non negotable to really get critical mass on legacy company AP.
In seeing this discussion, I can’t help but question the judgement of the product team. Who made the executive decision to leave so much revenue on the table? This needs to be a priority with a commited deadline. Otherwise going to lose market share as this is going to be a blocker for going all in on ramp. I’m struggling to make excuses to my clients on why this doesn’t exist.

Hi! @Christopher_Rawlings - thank you for the suggestion. Great news - our team agrees, and “partial payments” are already on the product roadmap.
While I don’t have an exact timeline yet, they will most likely be available in Q1 next year.

I actually make two copies of the bill and enter it then twice to avoid the deposit issue you are referring to. It is extra work but it works

It’ll roll out to Ramp Beta users a bit earlier, so if you’d like early access, make sure you opt into Ramp Beta (you can find this in your Company Settings)

Hi @Denice_Johnson – thanks for asking, the team is still building it out. I don’t have an exact date to share yet, but once I’m able to share an updated one, I’ll circle back!
@Per_Thiessen – for payments made outside of Ramp, I believe you’d still need to manually mark them as paid to keep everything tracked correctly.

Hey all! This is Elena, product manager on Bill Pay. I totally understand your frustrations with the delay, and agree that partial payments is a table stakes feature for any AP product.
This is now our #1 priority, and we are formally kicking off development on this Oct 14 and anticipate taking around 3 months to build to get to alpha. So all in all, customers should be able to start making partial payments sometime in Q1 2026. We are very committed to this timeline.
If anyone in this thread wants to get involved in the testing process, please comment and we can make sure to include you in the alpha once available!

When is partial bill pay coming? I can do it with Bill.com. Really starting to feel I went with an inferior product when I switched to Ramp.
Hi Helgi — thank you for checking in! As Elena mentioned, this feature will take approximately three months to build. The project kicked off in mid-October, with the team targeting an Alpha release by the end of January.
We don’t have a GA date yet, but we expect both Alpha and Beta to be available in early Q1. We appreciate your patience and want you to know that the team is working hard to deliver the best possible experience!
