Does anyone make payments for reimbursments outside of ramp? We’d like to continue to pay staff on their paycheck.
Most payroll systems have an approval process built in. So we were with Gusto and we’d just use that and not put it through ramp. No sense in overcomplicating things. We just moved to Rippling who charges for reimbursements (they’re trying to compete with Ramp) so we just transitioned everyone over to Ramp for reimbursements and it has been a game change. EEs are happier because it’s easier for them AND they get paid faster. And for me it means better tracking, more robust approvals, AND I can get everything classified correctly whereas it was just a generic reimbursement expense coming out of payroll.
Ramp does have the “pay outside of ramp” option so if you wanted to have approvals in ramp but pay through PR you could use this feature, but that seems to defeat the purpose of automating things like this IMO.
