Provide a URL for SP-initiated Sign-On

Please provide a no-click SP-initiated sign-on URL for SAML configurations, including Entra, etc. SSO is feature incomplete without it, and end-users are confused by Ramp’s sign-in page.

Confusing and unnecessarily complicated should not be the norm. End-users don’t want to be redirected to a Ramp sign-in page where they need to enter their email address, confusingly leave the password field blank, and then click a button with a technical term they don’t recognize.

It seems Ramp used to provide a URL for SP-initiated sign-on according to this help article: SAML IdP-initiated logins – Ramp, but it claims they were deprecated “due to a browser update” in 2024. This makes no sense: We have working SP-initiated sign-on URLs for Stripe, Amazon Business, Salesforce, Tailscale, and Google. I don’t believe there was a “browser update” that prevents Ramp from providing feature-complete SSO.

Hi Aaron! Thank you for posting! I’m Rachel, and I’m one of the product managers here at Ramp

Your feedback is deeply appreciated – we will be sure to take note and track this request. In the meantime, one option for a better user experience is to enforce SAML on your business, which will get rid of the “leave the password field blank” step and instead automatically begin a SAML flow when your click the button after entering your email.
