Reimbursement and Card Transaction Improvements

2 features I would love to see added.

  1. Currently the “Save as New View” option is only available for Bill Pay. It would be a huge help to be able to save custom views for Reimbursements and Card Transactions.
  2. I often have to export data to CSV. Bill Pay and Card Transactions allow me to customize what field come through on the CSV export, but this is currently unavailable for Reimbursements. Instead, I export a massive jumble of mostly useless information and have to spent time trying to clean it up.

Hi @Tyler_Padgett,

This is Bilal from the software engineering team at Ramp. We appreciate the feedback, and our engineering team is actively prioritizing and looking into your request to generalize saved views across all tables.

Regarding point 2, we built CSV column customizations for reimbursements last week, and they should already be available to you. If you go to Expenses > Reimbursements and click the Export button in the top right corner, you can customize which columns are included and adjust their order.

Hope that helps!

Hi @Bilal_Daqqah -

Thank you for the quick reply! Is it possible to have the CSV customization also added into the Accounting section? Accounting → Reimbursements → Settings (top right). The other payment types have CSV customization as an option here but Reimbursements still do not. Doing this from Expenses is helpful, but we still want to formally export these transactions through the Accounting section.

Hi @Tyler_Padgett ! Jerry from the engineering team here. I’ll scope this out with the engineering team and add it to our backlog. Will reach out back when we have updates.

This is also something we’ve been asking for for over a year!

  1. We 100% need the functionality to Save New Views in Any part of Ramp - not just some.
  2. We also need the export as CSV to be siloed as a setting per Saved View. Day after day, we have to re-set & re-order the export settings per each View so that can export the exact data needed for our Excel recons.

I’d love to hear more on how these two items are being addressed. Ramp Admin/AP/Bookeepers (and the like) need MORE customizable and available functionality across all of Ramp.

@Rebecca_Jackson1 totally understood - hoping to get you some resolution here as soon as we can. Do you only need the functionality to save new views for admin related views, or employee views (i.e: “My expenses”) as well? Please let me know which tables are the highest priority for you.

As for bullet point (2) - you’re right in that this is something we don’t support right now. I will bring this up to the engineering team.

Hi Jerry, sorry for my delay. We believe the ability to save new views would be advantageous for all views, admin & employee alike. But, our biggest ask is for our Admin views as our Finance team works in Ramp most consistently. Where we need this the most is in Expenses>Card transactions; Manage Spend>Funds; and Vendors (in order of importance). For Employees, having the ability to save a filter under My Expenses would also be highly beneficial (including more search filters - specifically “charge status”)

And I appreciate you brining point 2 up to the engineering team. Please let me know if you (or they) would like to chat about this more. We go through a long series of time consuming hoops to reset the export settings for each view.

I 100% agree with Rebecca on both points. I would also be happy to chat with anyone on the team if there are any questions

Hi @Rebecca_Jackson1 and @Tyler_Padgett, I’ve brought this up to our engineering team before the holiday. We’re scoping out the work needed to enable saved views across our different tables. I’ll reach out to you both over email so we can understand how you anticipate using saved views and build the right support in for you!
