Spend Controls - Ability to use BOTH Merchant and Category controls on one account

I’m told we can only use Merchant control or use Merchant Category controls but not both.
Would like to use both on one card. i.e. Allow Government merchant category OR allow this Merchant Name to charge this card…

There is a government agency that charges a fee, and the fee comes through as a different category than government. we had to set up a second account to issue to the specific merchant so the full transaction would post since it was processing under two different merchant cateogies.

Hi @Sondra_Bonham, thanks for the inquiry!

You are able to set up controls with both specific Merchants and Categories within the ‘Advanced Settings’ section when creating or editing a card. Click into ‘Spending Controls and Restrictions,’ then ‘add restrictions’ where you can then fill out either ‘allowed’ or ‘blocked’ categories and merchants on the card.
