Trip Dates

Please make the trip dates either not required, or allow trips to overlap. A lot of our sales staff will end one trip in the morning and then start another in the afternoon and to have to constantly adjust the dates of the trip by one day leads to inefficiencies.

+1 for this issue! I’ve been raising it internally since our recent onboarding tests here. I travel extensively with one trip rolling into the next so I frequently have expenses on the same day for different trips. My last run of travel was 5 different trips combined into one. This creates a huge mess for me in my expense reports.

@edaou what is the status of this? I note that from your previous comment this should have been resolved many months ago.

I’ve got 3 trips that rolled from one right into the other and dealing with this mess once again because I can’t have overlapping dates.

We also have the same issue. I understand the system has some logic such as perdiem and other flags tied to trips but there should be a way to tie them to time… Our sales folks often travel in more than one trip per day. Aditionally, it would be super nice to allow the user to setup some default fields when creating the trip. For instance - a user should be able to set a default customer (QBO field) at the trip which woudl pre-populate all transactions associated with that trip (instead of having to manually add to each transaction).

P.S. Please don’t ask me to just use separate funds for each trip/customer onsite to accomplish this! Most of our reps have a Travel Fund Budget and we try to make it easy for them not to have to request or create new funds for each trip (never nice to have to manage too many funds if you are not one of us accountants :slight_smile:
