Unsync or Unlock a synced credit card transaction to allow edits/bill pay match

Currently Ramp behavior is to lock a transaction after it has been synced over to QBO or NS, which is understandable. However, it would be preferred if the system allowed you to make edits if the books are open. This not only hampers good reporting out of Ramp but also created multiple complications for budgeting and 1099 reporting.

Example: A credit card transaction was mistakingly synced as an expense to QBO where it should rather have been matched to a bill. To fix it, I have only been able to find this SUPER CUMBERSOME workaround…

  1. Go to QBO, delete the synced expense (which doubled booked the expense since a bill already was entered)
  2. Go to the bill in Ramp, edit it, and change the payment method from paying with Ramp Card to Paying “outside of Ramp” - cheap fix here, which may impact other areas…
  3. Mark the bill as Paid in Ramp to prevent double paying
  4. In QBO, mark the bill as paid manually with the Ramp Card, and ensure that your bank match at reconciliation matches the right transaction…

VERY PAINFUL… I hope there is a better way to do this - if not - can we please add this to the Ramp wishlist?

I totally agree with this. You can edit a bill after it’s been synced and we often find we need to edit CC transactions to adjust the GL account, department, etc., so it would be nice to be able to do this in Ramp and resync it similar to bills vs having to fix it in the back-end in NetSuite. We’ve been fixing it in NetSuite today, but then it can get confusing because there’s an information mismatch between NetSuite and Ramp
